Bumble Bee Jasper Sphere, 2.9 inches in diameter.
Not a true Jasper, Bumblebee is made up of many minerals including gypsum, sulfur and hematite in a volcani tuff matrix. It comes from the fumaroles of Mount Papandayam in West Java, Indonesia. The natives call it “Bata Badar Blerang” or Fumarole Jasper. You just are not going to get any crazier colors than this!
This sphere has lots of pits. Some are coated with the fine ash that this material comes out of. It was very difficult to photograph. It wants to show more orange than the colors actually are. be sure to check the video for a color comparison.
